Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii (The World is Still Beautiful)

Konnichiwa minna-san, I am back again in the profile of Japanese anime characters. Today I will tell the profile of the characters in Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii (The Worls is Still Beautiful). I hope you guys enjoy it.

Livius I
Livius Orvinus Ifrikia (リヴィウス・オルヴィヌス・イフリキア Riviusu Oruvinusu Ifurikia), also known as Livius the First, is the deuteragonist of the story. He is the only-child and King of the Sun Kingdom, as well as Nike's husband.

Livius was the only child of his Father, King Leonidas III and Queen Sheila. As a child Livius was only close with his mother as they were both kept isolated from the rest of the inhabitants in the palace because of his mother's low social status. After his mother's death, Livius grew cold and cruel and became distrustful of everyone around him, and began to conquer the lands until the whole world was conquered. The only one other than his mother whom he had a civil relation is Amaluna, Princess of the Ocean Kingdom.

Nike

Nike Lemercier (ニケ・ルメルシエ Nike Rumerushie) is the main protagonist of the story. She is the youngest princess of the Rain Dukedom, the queen of the Sun Kingdom, and Livius' wife.

Nike is the youngest princess of the four princess of the Rain Dukedom. As a child Nike had difficulties summoning the rain and wind so she was often sad. Regardless Nike never gave up on learning. As she grew up and trained, she always took the harder path and hurt herself. Even then she never gave up. Her grandmother said "It would hurt her more." when Nike's cousin Kitora asks why does not she just give up on summoning rain. She is clearly the most beloved of the four princess to her grandmother. She is also considered to be the best and most talented as she is the only one who can summon both rain and wind together.

Sheila

Shira (シーラ, Shīra) often translated as Sheila). The late queen of the Sun Kingdom and Livius's mother. She passed away three years prior to the beginning of the story. Despite her deceased status, Sheila is often seen in flashbacks.

Sheila is Livius's mother and was the former Queen of the Sun Kingdom. She was assassinated three years prior. She was the daughter of a small tribe and lived an isolated life in the palace with her son until her death. Her death motivated Livius to conquer the world.

Bardouin

Bardwin is the prime minster of the Sun Kingdom, biological brother of the late king and Livius's uncle.

Bardwin Cecil Ifrikia (バルドウィン・シシル・イフリキア Barudouin Shishiru Ifurikia) is the biological brother of the late king and eldest uncle of Livius. When Livius ascended the throne, he picked up the role as prime minster and shortly after, abandon the post because he hated the feeling of being weighed down. However, later in the series, the real reason Bardouin left the post was because the pain of Sheila's death returned after Livius and him had conquered the world.

Bardouin is also very popular among the ladies. Livius warns Nike to stay away from him, because he was afraid that Nike would fall in love with him. Later, Livius would put him in jail and confines Nike to her room because of a misunderstanding and anger that his uncle had seduced Nike. However, after the misunderstanding cleared up due to Nike's interference, Livius allows him to return to the Sun Kingdom and resume his job as the kingdom's prime minster. His relationship with Livius also improves.

Luna

The first princess of the Sea Kingdom. She is the childhood friend of Livius and has been in love with him ever since they were young.

Amaluna Luirasalle, simply called Luna, is the first princess of the Sea Kingdom. Luna and Livius have been very close friends since they were young. She claims to be Livius's fiancee, though Livius objects and states that he has never consented even once and that it was her parents who decided. Princess Luna is very much in love with Livius and loathes Princess Nike because he loves her even though she knew him first. Luna eventually returns to her kingdom, having realized, that while she loved Livius first, Nike reached out to him and accepted him while she distanced herself from Livius because she was scared of the changes that overcame him during the three years. She goes on to have a romance with an older guy named Claude Fortis.

Leonidas III                  

Leonidas III is Livius's biological father and former king of the Sun Kingdom. He is also Bardouin's older brother and Sheila's husband. He is presumed to be deceased, as the characters in the manga have referred to him multiple times as the "late king". The manner in which he died is still unknown.

Neil

Neil is Livius's butler. He provide several important information to Nike in the beginning of the story. He often accompany Livius during his travels.

Neil is Livius's butler. He seem to understand Livius and he cares about him a great deal. He often serve as Nike's tutor.

Mira lemercier, Nia Lemercier and Kara Lemercier.

Iraha

Iraha (イラハ Iraha) is the Queen of Rain Dukedom and she is the mother of the four princesses of Rain Dukedom. She is constantly protected and care for by her guards due to her poor health and weak body. She loves her daughters very much, and although she accepts Livius as her son-in-law, she is afraid that her daughter, Nike would be taken advantage of in the Sun Kingdom due to her power, which can cause insurmountable damage and obliterate countries with a single song. However, Livius reassures her that he would protect Nike forever. When Livius first met Iraha, he notes that she is beautiful.

Teteru

Teteru Lemercier is the chief of Rain Dukedom, however unlike Nike's grandmother Tohara, he is just a figure head. Teteru is Nike's father and Livius' father-in-law.

Although he is the chief of Rain Dukedom, he does not have any power like grandmother. Nike's grandmother scolded him when he gave Nike away as a wife to Livius.

Tohara

Tohara (トハラ Tohara) is the grandmother of Nike and is usually to referred to as "grandmother" by everyone else in the story. She is also the matriarchal head of Rain Dukedom, as well as Nike's mentor.

She helped raise Nike and Kitra when they were children, and she rigorously trained Nike how to make rain fall with her own songs, as Nike initially could not since she wasn't born with the gift like her older sisters. When she learned that Nike was sent to the Sun Kingdom by Teteru, she scolded him, and later pretends to be sick so that Nike will return to Rain Dukedom. During that time, she planned to prevent Nike from ever leaving Rain Dukedom again with Kitra's help.
